This was the most brutal, barbaric killing yet. I heard the little patter of rat feet in the garage. I turned on the flashlight and did not see any. There are sliding barn doors in the back of my garage and they are currently off of their track and rusty (inoperable). I looked under the track of the doors and saw four baby rats. Actually, I just saw their bellies and feet. I fired off a few pellets at the track but I just couldn’t get it throught the slot to hit any rats. Then, a thought occurred to me. When I moved into this house, there was a strange device hanging on a nail in the garage. It is a long handle with a sharp hook tied to the end (pictured below). I grabbed the hook. By the time I got back to the track where the babies were hiding, there was only one rat left. I slid the hook into the slot about three feet away from where the baby was hiding. Then using two hands and all of my strength, I slid the hook along the track right at the baby rat. Immediately upon impact I pulled the hook down out of the slot. To my horror, the little baby rat was impailed right in the center of its skull and it was hanging by its head on the hook shaking like vibrating cell phone. I went back for more later.
